The logistics
Travelling with a sable means planning around one question: where will Buddy sleep, eat and safely destroy things? The answer is always the same — his carrier is base camp, and every hotel room gets a ten-minute sable-proofing inspection before he is released.
Trains beat planes. A dark, quiet carrier under the seat beats a cargo hold every single time, and most European trains simply do not care about a small sleeping mustelid.
Hotels that survived Buddy
We book apartments over hotels now: a kitchen for raw food, a bathroom that can become a temporary sable room, and fewer neighbours to confuse with dawn war-dancing.
Buddy's record: four countries, zero escapes, one stolen hotel sock that we paid for. The sock is now part of his stash.
